Statter Harbor Improvements

Statter Harbor supports a significant recreational and commercial vessel fleet in Auke Bay. The master plan effort reconfigured and expanded existing harbor and upland facilities to alleviate congestion and improve safety and efficiency. The proposed improvements included a new boat launch ramp, passenger for hire float, improved uplands and parking, moorage improvements, and a waterfront pedestrian corridor in a park setting surrounding the project. Following the public process and master planning, an eight-year permitting phase included the development of an EIS and planned mitigation efforts, including habitat restoration of adjacent Bay Creek, the tidal area, and a focus on reducing visual impacts. With permits in hand, we developed construction documents for this multi-phased project. Our work included uplands master planning, public engagement, wetlands permitting, tidal and scenery resources management, construction documents for the landscape, waterfront park and walk, and site features. The finished harbor improvements meet the needs of harbor patrons and have become a community attraction for locals and visitors to access and enjoy Auke Bay.
