Skagway Rec Center Master Plan

Corvus Design provided master planning services for the Skagway Recreation Center to analyze its existing outdoor facilities and make recommendations for improving this community destination. Public engagement included community meetings where new priorities were identified that led to the development of a new master plan that complements the goals and objectives of the recreation center and provides new recreation opportunities. The master plan resolved safety issues through the organization of pedestrian and vehicular circulation, functional siting of facilities that require supervision (playgrounds, skate park), and the use of landscape to provide separation between uses. New facilities include a sportsfield, playgrounds, ice rink, court facilities, skate park, looped trail system, picnic facilities, organized parking, and allows the hosting of community events within a series of shelters and plaza spaces.
