Pullen Creek Streamwalk

The Pullen Creek StreamWalk is an interpretive trail designed to provide visitors to Skagway with easy access to popular natural and historic locations in and around Pullen Creek and Pullen Pond. We worked with the Taiya Inlet Watershed Council, Municipality of Skagway Borough, and US Fish and Wildlife Service to develop an interpretive pedestrian route along the lower ¼ mile segment of Pullen Creek, including riparian ecosystem enhancements. This highly popular urban anadromous stream was loved too much, and heavy use for stream access and fishing left it significantly degraded. The project identified areas for restoration to stabilize stream banks, reduce stream velocity and create improved habitat, feeding, and rearing opportunities within the creek. The project also developed a master plan for a pedestrian route along the stream to provide viewing and angling facilities, interpretive and educational opportunities, and interaction with the creek. In addition to developing this streamwalk, Corvus Design developed and installed many interpretive panels with a wide range of themes of interest to both locals and visitors alike.
