Cope Park

Also known as Evergreen Bowl, this area has cultural and historic significance extending long before becoming Juneau's first park. Corvus Design led a multi-disciplinary team to renovate and restore this historic 3-acre wooded park located in downtown Juneau along Gold Creek. A series of public meetings gathered input on how this park could be revitalized and serve its community. Planning included active and passive recreation and a focus on site layout and design to ensure good sightlines for safety and comfort within the park. New shelters, picnic areas, playgrounds, court games, accessible loop trails, a dog park, and new tennis and basketball courts replaced declining park facilities. The restoration of the historic grandstand and ballfield and a nature play area highlight the park improvements. Corvus Design continued the project to provide construction documentation for the initial phases of the work.
