Margaret Ave.

We provided construction document services for the Northern Region of the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities on the realignment of Margaret Avenue in Fairbanks. Work included an initial site visit and walk-through with ADOT&PF Staff, a meeting with adjacent landowners, and the development of a concept sketch into design drawings. This project included the redevelopment of two existing properties to allow for the realignment of Margaret Avenue into College Road to create a four-way intersection. Design considerations included an adjacent landowner providing a decorative landscape element, pedestrian connections, sight distance triangles, and ease of maintenance for the site and landscape design. The availability of significant land on each side of the road allowed for significant landscape improvements and increased aesthetics for the area.
