Corvus Design provided construction administration services for this transportation center that Corvus principal, Chris Mertl designed prior to joining Corvus. The project includes a three story parking garage, a transit center, pedestrian plazas, new streetscape, and the development of a community park. Landscape architectural highlights include a green roof on the transit center, utilizing Tlingit basket weave patterns for pedestrian paving and guardrail design, and incorporating historic boundaries into the layout of the site and in paving patterns. This project received an American Society of Landscape Architects-Alaska Award for “Outstanding Professional Achievement” in 2012.
