Mountain View Elementary School underwent planning for a major rehabilitation of the school. We worked with the Anchorage School District (ASD) on the development of three different levels of improvements to the existing Mt. View Elementary School. These different levels of improvements included the Building Life Extension, the Intermediate Plan, and a Renewal Plan. Each of these design levels included variations of the existing, and included site improvements such as site design; vehicular and pedestrian circulation; playground layout; parking lot redesign; separation of bus and parent drop-off; entry plazas; and required landscape plantings per MOA Title 21 standards. The final design included a new, accessible playground area, rain gardens for on-site water detention, and a front entry with seating and decorative walls.
