This urban neighborhood park in downtown Juneau has seen a recent significant increase in use that has led to its slow deterioration. New users groups have changed the programming and use of the park that have also resulted in conflicts amongst users. Corvus is leading a public driven design process to determine needs, programming and methods to eliminate conflicts and create a public park that is ‘inclusive’ rather than ‘exclusive’. The process includes numerous public workshops and design charrettes to develop a new master plan that meets the needs of various users, minimizes maintenance, and reflects the rich historic character of the site and neighborhood.
